System Support Engineer (Full-time)

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated system engineers to serve as the first line of diagnosis and triage for our implemented systems deployed across customer environments. You will be responsible for applying a systematic approach to troubleshoot, analyze log data, perform host and network health checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and triage technical issues by efficiently locating, reading, and analyzing application and system log files to determine the root cause of alerts.
  • Execute troubleshooting procedures precisely by strictly following established runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
  • Perform fundamental server health checks including monitoring system resources such as Disk utilization, CPU load, and Memory consumption.
  • Manage application processes by identifying, checking the status of, and appropriately interacting with running services on Linux hosts.
  • Conduct basic network connectivity tests to rule out network issues as the source of a problem, including checking port listening status and validating web protocol responses (e.g., HTTP status codes like 200, 404, 500).
  • Apply a logical, step-by-step methodology to problem-solving, ensuring all variables (server status, network reachability, service health) are systematically checked.
  • Document and escalate incidents to Tier 2 support by providing clear, concise, and complete incident summaries, including precise timestamps, relevant log snippets, and a record of all attempted troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintain system integrity by correctly managing file system permissions in the Linux environment.

Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Linux Operating System fundamentals and common command-line tools such as ls, cd, cp, mv, and grep for navigation and searching.
  • Solid understanding of process management and system resource monitoring in a Linux environment.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts sufficient to perform connectivity tests and diagnose basic network issues.
  • Familiarity with standard Web Protocols and the meaning of common HTTP status codes.
  • A strong ability to follow detailed technical documentation and procedures.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the capacity to apply a structured, logical approach to issue triage.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, specifically for creating clear incident summaries and escalations.
  • Experience in an IT Operations, Service Desk, or similar Tier 1 support environment is a plus.
